This course is for those who need to use a high pressure water jetting system to clean surfaces. This course meets the needs of specialised cleaning in the form of high pressure cleaning that uses specialised equipment. The learner will be able to apply the processes and procedural standards for a range of high pressure cleaning assignments, in various cleaning work assignments and contexts. Learners who complete this course, may be able to use high pressure water jetting systems to clean surfaces. Users could be in a domestic or industrial environment.
The course will cover the following learning outcomes:
- Explain the risks associated with the use of a high pressure water jetting unit in terms of different cleaning surfaces
- Describe personal protective equipment (PPE) in terms of its purpose and application
- Explain and demonstrate safety measures in terms of high pressure water jetting systems in accordance with manufactures’ and work-site instructions
- Explain consequences of non-adherence to operational requirements in terms of the impact on health, safety and the environment
- Prepare the water jetting system • Operate a high pressure water jetting system to clean surfaces
- Inspect the work done in terms of the job specification(s)
- Explain deviations from expected outcomes in accordance with work-site procedure requirements
- Complete inspection reports in accordance with work-site procedures
- Care for and store tools, materials and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and work-site procedure
